IP Video Surveillance Market Forecasted at $57 Billion in 2020
I am always looking for uplifting stories when I watch the news. I am waiting for the economy to take an upturn (and would like for there to be world peace). Perhaps I can’t get everything I am looking for, but I was thrilled when I read the new report published on SDM magazine’s website yesterday with forecast numbers for the IP Video market. They shared information from an Allied Market Research (AMR) report titled “IP Video Surveillance and VSaaS Market (Technologies, Applications, Services, Geography) — Industry Analysis, Trends, Share, Opportunities and Forecast.” The numbers are exciting, showing 44% growth annually around the globe, reaching $57.3 billion in 2020. North America alone is expected to grow to $18.7 billion by that time.
According to SDM, the AMR report expects the IP surveillance hardware market to be the fastest growth engine, with major adaptation and growth in government, high-security, banking and financial institutions. In addition, SDM included a link to an article on 2014 Trends in Video Surveillance which states, among other things, that fixed-dome and 180-/360-deg. network cameras will be the fastest-growing product segments this year.
