Here’s a first, I’m in the car (passenger seat) on the way to Richmond, VA to see Ty Dillon race the WESCO car, when I get this hot news flash about the race that I just have to blog about. I’m posting this from my iPhone, so I hope it works, here’s the great news:
WESCO’s NASCAR Driver #51 Selected for ESPN’s In-car Camera at Friday’s Race
Tune in to ESPN, Friday, September 7, at 7 p.m. for the NASCAR Nationwide Series Virginia 529 College Savings 250
Following his first NASCAR Truck victory last week in Atlanta and an impressive third-place finish at the July 28 Nationwide Series race in Indianapolis, fans are excited about Ty Dillon, who once again will drive the WESCO car #51 at the Richmond International Raceway this Friday, September 7, starting at 7 p.m. (eastern time). This time, fans can watch and listen in on all of the action from inside the vehicle thanks to ESPN’s in-car camera. WESCO’s car #51 is one of three cars that will be outfitted with the cameras which provide high-definition views from the front, rear and sides of the car and multiple angles of the driver inside the cockpit.
Fans can also get live updates on the race by following WESCO’s Twitter feed ( twitter.com/WESCODist ) and WESCO’s Facebook page ( http://www.facebook.com/wesco.international ). WESCO is the primary sponsor of the #51 Chevrolet driven by Ty Dillon in two NASCAR Nationwide Series races this season, including Friday’s race. The 20-year-old driver finished third in the first race in the WESCO Chevrolet at Indianapolis Motor Speedway July 28. “I have high hopes going into Richmond [International Raceway] this weekend,” Dillon said in the event preview for this week released by Richard Childress Racing. “The same team that was at Indianapolis [Motor Speedway] will be there this weekend working on the WESCO Chevrolet. We know we can qualify and finish well. It’s just a matter of working hard and putting forth 100 percent to do it again this weekend.”
