NASCAR is THE Sport to Follow

Months ago, I was at a dinner meeting with some of the company execs, and the conversation turned to sports. In Chicago, it’s all about “Da Bears”, the Bulls, the Cubs or White Sox and the Blackhawks – whatever the sport, we’ve got it covered. Someone turned to me and asked, “So, Stefanie, what team do you follow?” I looked up and said, “Oh – the 31″. I was met with a blank stare, and someone else just chimed right in – “She’s a NASCAR fan” – and YES I am! Richard Childress Racing (RCR) all the way!

So imagine my excitement when I learned that WESCO has partnered with RCR this year with a primary sponsorship of the #51 Nationwide Series “WESCO Distribution Chevy” driven by none other than Richard Childress’ grandson, Ty Dillon for 2 races. The first was a couple weeks ago, on 7/28 in Indy – and I cheered Ty on from my easy chair in our living room as he came in 3rd place! The Next race is taking place on Sept. 7 in Richmond, VA – and this time I am going to make sure Ty can hear how loud I can cheer, as hubby and I are heading to Richmond International Raceway to catch this exciting night race live! Hopefully, my follow up blog post will feature a picture of Hubby and I with Ty Dillon in front of the WESCO #51 – and maybe a shot of us in front of Jeff Burton’s #31 Sprint Cup car on Sept. 8 – the WESCO Logo will be featured on the side panel of his Chevy, too!

I had no idea. I guess I’m going to have to start watching NASCAR. Go WESCO!
