Access Control Market Predicted to Grow 4x by 2016
Security risks and the changing nature of threats worldwide are a growing concern. As concern grows, so does market potential for security products such as electronic access contol systems (EACS). I found an interesting article featuring a market analysis from Frost & Sullivan. The article “Proliferating Security Concerns Trigger Growth Spike in the World EACS Market” states that the market earned revenues of over $2 billion (U.S.) in 2009 and estimates that this will reach over four times this size by 2016! The article states that: “While commercial end-users form the bulk of revenues currently, government is playing a key role in overall EACS market growth and is expected to be the biggest driver in the short to medium term.”
So, where is the growth taking place? It seems that proximity cards and readers have the greatest growth from a product standpoint. The Americas are currently the largest EACS market, with great growth potential in the Asia Pacific.
